Description
This is the rare true stereo edition of Roy Orbison's Crying LP from 1962 [Monument SM 14007]

Pretty much every copy that pops up online is the mono, so this is a true rarity.
I don't have the technology currently to provide audio samples but I will do my best to describe it.
The jacket has a small split near the top of the jacket, and a light pencil price from an old record store in another corner, as pictured, and as you can see from the photos its a pretty solid VG.
The LP I would also grade as a VG. I think it sounds great, loud, crisp and clear with none of the distortion and heavy surface noise a lot of needles from the era caused on most LPs.
It does have a good amount of light scratches and abrasions on both sides but none of them cause a repetitive pop, or a major intrusion. The noise is in the background and is mainly noticeable on headphones, but it is there. A sparse crackle, if you will. Light individual snaps. Side B is a hair stronger than A, which is typical.
Despite the light crackle I would have to say as an Orbison fan this is the best I've heard Running Scared and Crying sound aside from that box set that came out a few years back. If it were a NM record or even a VG+ I'd be completely blown away probably, but this still sounds pretty great to my ears. Wonderful stereo separation, especially for the time.
