ROTZKOTZ Vorsicht Paranoia (Hippocrite (HIP 666), 1979) LP
Condition: handmade sleeve in very good+ (vg+); some spots; yellowing from age and handmade printing; vinyl in excellent (ex) condition
Original first pressing of 300 copies with handstamped labels and spray-painted sleeve. Released on Billy Childish's POP RIVETS-period label, 'Vorsicht Paranoia' was the debut by Hannover's ROTZKOTZ and was Germany's first independently produced and released punk album. Manfred 'Typhus' Schütz (founder of legendary BOOTS shop/distribution and SPV) spraypainted the band logo and rubber-stamped the titles onto 290 plain white LP sleeves; the record was imported from the UK, but a subsequent German edition, entitled 'Much Funny', comes with a unique picture sleeve, printed labels and a different matrix number. It's worth noting that ROTZKOTZ 's original guitarist, Dieter Runge, had moved to New York in 1978 and formed NEW YORK NIGGERS: their 'Just Like Dresden' had already been performed live by Runge with ROTZKOTZ shortly before his leaving Hannover.
