Description

Rosita Renard ( real name Rose Amalia Renard Artigas ), born in Santiago de Chile, February 8, 1894, died in Santiago de Chile, May 24, 1949, was a Chilean pianist. Studied in Germany under Martin Krause. The highest point of her career came after 1945, when she started an artistic cooperation with conductor Erich Kleiber, playing Mozart concertos with him throughout Latin America and USA, her last New York recital was on January 19, 1949.

 

10" American Brunswick 40520: Chopin, Nocturne in F sharp major op. 15 No 2 / Mendelssohn, Prelude op. 104 No 1 and Prelude op.26 No 7. Recorded ca. 1928. Matrices 40320 and 40530.

Condition: 3, slight scratches and light greying / 3-4, more greying.

Grading:

1 = mint, never played on gramophone, is not used

1-2 = top copy, no traces of use - virtually as new

2 = excellent copy, few light non-sounding rubs/marks

2-3 = light traces of wear (rubs/marks), very light greying and/or light scratches, non sounding blemishes

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible

4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible

5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
