Roscoe Gordon was a singer , pianist and songwriter.
Hugely popular. Like Howlin’ Wolf Roscoe Gordon was making records at the same time for both Sam Phillips and his Sun label and the Bihari brothers who had RPM and Modern. Both were leading masters to the Chess Brothers as well. The matter was settled by Wolf becoming a Chess artist and Roscoe Gordon becoming an RPM artist.
Huge influence on Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones who says that he brought some of Roscoe Gordon to the Stones
