This is a used original Rory Gallagher 1971 Polydor Vinyl LP 2383-044 and concert ticket stub.

Side A Matrix number A//3 V420 1 1 5

Side B Matrix number B 1 1 2 1

I’ll just explain how I got this album.

Rory had left is last band “Taste”and decided to go solo, I was into “Taste” and was disappointed to hear that he had left the group.

However, not long after, I heard that he was going solo and that his new band were about to go on tour, so I couldn’t wait to get the chance to see him.

He came to the Sheffield City Hall on the 12th June 1971 and I was one of around 200 people that was stood at the front of the stage (capacity about 2,300).

He was absolutely fantastic and played solidly for 2.1/2 hours and played with all the energy as if the hall was full.

After the gig had finished, I was walking out into the foyer and his crew were actually selling his album, which I bought there and then.

Needless to say, once word got around about how good this gig was, the next gig he did at the City Hall was a sell out.

I’ve seen him another five times at the City Hall but will always remember that first solo gig.

So, after owning it from new for nearly fifty years, I am selling the album and the ticket stub from that unforgettable night and hopefully a true Rory Gallagher fan will get the same pleasure and enjoyment that I’ve had owning these two items.

I am not a collector, so I will try to give an honest description as best as I can and please see photos for exact condition as these form part of the description.

Condition:-

Outer sleeve - 6/10 has a crease along the spine area.

Inner sleeve - 7/10 some yellowing along the adhesive part on the inside.

Vinyl - 8/10 very light surface marks but no deep scratches.

Don’t know the significance of this, it has the number 776 written by hand on the inside of the outer sleeve.
