Description

RORY GALLAGHER" U.S. 1971 LP (Atco) SD 33-368 M-/MINT!
Rory Gallagher was a shy unpretentious man from County Donegal, Ireland known as "The People's Guitarist". His playing was extremely powerful & today he is recognized as the finest guitarist to emerge from Ireland. He first gained fame as the front man for the Blues Rock power trio Taste in the late 60s & this album is his first solo effort after breaking up the band in 1971. It follows in much the same vein as Taste but with more emphasis on Rory's songwriting. Many of his signature tunes are here such as "Laundromat", "Hands Up" & "Sinner Boy". The band consisted of Rory on vocals, guitar, sax, harmonica & mandolin, Gerry McAvoy on bass, Wilgar Campbell on drums & Vincent Crane of Atomic Rooster on piano on two tracks. Produced by Rory Gallagher, engineered by Eddy Offord with the cover by Hipgnosis.
Side 1 1. Laundromat 2. Just The Smile 3. I Fall Apart 4. Wave Myself Goodbye 5. Hands Up
Side 2 1. Sinner Boy 2. For The Last Time 3. It's You 4. I'm Not Surprised 5. Can't Believe It's True
Cover looks nearly new & is intact w/no tears or writing. There are two stickers on the front- a 2" round "Promotional Copy/Not For Sale" sticker in orange on the upper right & a 2 1/2" x 2" yellow & black sticker on the upper left stating "Promotional DJ Copy/Suggested Cuts For Airplay/Rory Gallagher,1.Hands Up (5:24),2. Laundromat (4:38),3. Sinner Boy (5:30)/Atco SD 33-368/Not For Sale". The cover is graded at M- due to only the faintest wear on the front & back. The stereo record has white Atco promo labels w/no spindle marks. It has no scratches or scuffs & has received only 1 or 2 plays.  It is in MINT condition.
