Description

John Lennon's famous/infamous mail order record "ROOTS John Lennon sings the great Rock & Roll Hits", released by Adam VIII Ltd. I won't insult you by saying "THIS MIGHT BE AN ORIGINAL" because it is not! This is a reproduction. Record is in very good shape. Album was listened to in its entirety before listing and sounds very good, last photo shows some VERY small "dimples" on side one, some of these dimples cause some very light pops, others cause NO sound defects. there are NO no cracks, skips or other sound problems. They look alot worse than they are, the album still plays very well.  Sleeve is in very good shape, just a few minor signs of wear. Tracks are shown in photos.

If you don't know the story, John recorded the tracks for his "Rock & Roll" cover album, Morris Levy got ahold of the masters and got a tentitive verbal OK from John to release the album as a TV Commercial Mail Order Album. After Capital, EMI & Apple heard about the plans which they did not approve but Levy released the album anyway, he was stopped after about 3000 copies were pressed. The songs on this album are rough cuts and different from what was released on "Rock & Roll".

Has been in a Beatles loving, climate controled, smoke free home with cats for 20+ years.
