RON HOLDEN
THINGS DON’T HAPPEN THAT WAY
Ron Holden born in 1939 and was from Seattle, Washington. His whole large family was made up of brothers and sisters and parents too, who were all musicians. He started singing while still a tot and was entertaining in public for school dances when he started high school. His big break came in 1960 when his song “Love You So” turned into a hit for Del Fi Records.
He only had that one hit, but several of his other records have gone on to become big with soul collectors, as well as group sound fans. This one, his only single for Baronet Records (February 1962) is quite the rare item. The topside here is “Things Don’t Happen That Way.” On the flip is “Ya Got That Lovin’ Touch.” He’s recording here with a vocal group called the Twilighters.
