RARE
Original 1983 R.M. Record label, STEREO MONO pressing released on heavy vinyl, cat#. RM 3303, Italy.
Fantastic Romano Mussolini's private jam released on Mussolini's own label RM Record surely on a handful of copies privately distributed, a pure gem for Jazz collectors and samples hunters. The copy comes signed on the back by Mussolini himself with an inscription to the previous owner. Recorded in just 6 hours at Cicci Santucci's own studios in Rome, 1983, featuring the great double-bass player Giorgio Rosciglione and his favourite percussionist Wilfred Copello. The album includes the two themes of "TABU'" written by the maestro for the theatrical comedy by Nicola Manzari through the use of Kawai EP 308 Electric Piano, that inspired the superb theme of "KAWAI BLUES". Also includes another theme taken from TV documentary called "MY MOTHER" on the top of 3 Evergreen American Jazz classics. Classic Mussolini's style with the usual large use of rhythmic session: huge percussions and drumming set great for sampling. Maria Kelly nice Jazz Scat Vocals on the Rodgers-Hart tracks. On side A we find the two themes of "TABU'" with their Hard/Post Bop vein characterized by super-fast Jazzy swingin' drums and central Kawai piano notes with the trombone and percussions on his first version. More Lounge and soft the second version "MY MOTHER" Romantic Jazz TV theme written by the maestro for his mother. On the other side we find the killer track "KAWAI BLUES" which provides name of the album: Minor Blues Moody Jazzy featuring great Jazz-Funk rhythms and killing drum session, brilliant! Another great theme follows "ORFEO NEGRO" with its infectious Samba Jazz and Exotic percussions.
