Description
Columbia 31036-F
Artist: George Radu
Tracks: Doina Din America / Te Iubesc
Nice Eastern European "doina" folk piece with fiddle, piano, and mournful vocal (a little like the "bavna pesen" from Bulgaria), which then picks up to a hot fiddle-led dance piece near the end. Flip side is more slow and a bit romantic. The group was led by N. Hanzi, and recorded in Chicago, in 1927.
Condition: VV+ / V+ (plenty of marks with some play wear, especially near the tail end of "Iubesc" - but the "doina" is the better track)
