Description
The Rolling Stones-s/t (UK, Decca LK 4605, mono) Cover is VG-, somewhat grubby and yellowed, has a stain and a name written on the back cover, top seam a little more than halfway unglued (easily repaired but I'll leave that to you!). Record is VG, plenty of light marks but plays enjoyably well. UK test pressing of side two of their first album (there's music on both sides, but they both play side two), with the 4:05 long version of "Tell Me." One side has the Decca test pressing label with the matrix and catalog numbers and the band name stamped on it. The other side's label is a generic pattern (this side has the name "Marguerite" written on it, same as the back cover: see pictures). The matrix numbers stamped into the dead wax are XARL-6272-3A and XARL-6272-4A (so yes, BOTH sides play the long version of "Tell Me"). The cover has no backflaps however, so the cover is from a later ‘60’s pressing. I don’t know if someone matched the cover with the record later (since test pressings generally come in plain sleeves), or if the later jacket means this is a test pressing from the late ‘60’s rather than 1964. My personal ‘64 original has the XARL-6272-4A matrix for what it’s worth.....Due to the unique nature of this item I will ONLY send it insured for it's full value. In the US, you can have it sent media for $2.75 or priority for $7.00 plus the insurance fee. If you live overseas that means using the more expensive airmail parcel post (which is around $20 instead of the usual $11), plus the insurance fee. This will require me to declare it's full insured value for customs. I can't make any exceptions, so please don't write and ask if I'll send it uninsured-as-a gift-declared-for-$10: I won't.
