Description
For auction here is a mono copy of the Rolling Stones album Beggars Banquet as originally issued on Decca LK4955 in 1968.
The gatefold cover is an off-white, intact copy. It is in a very good condition.There are a couple of light scuff marks on the spine which I'm hoping you can see in the spine scan. There's a few light marks on the front centre-right cover and a slight crease mark just below 'Banquet'. There is some very slight ringwear to the back and front. The cover is NOT perfect but it is still a very nice copy. As can be seen it is NOT the 'patent pending' copy.
The inner sleeve is, I believe, the original as I bought this off a friend more than 20 years ago and he looked after his records. There is a slight bit of foxing but it is intact. There is a slight corner crease on the back bottom right where the glue has become unstuck.
The vinyl is very close to EXCELLENT, there are the slightest of marks on it when held up to the light. The pressings are XARl-8476-4A and XARL-8477-2A which, I believe, makes it a first pressing.
The labels are excellent with no writing and no stickers. I can see some spindle marks on either side but the actual spindle hole looks excellent. As can be seen the label is the non-tax-code variant. Stonesondecca.com has described this variant as 'Design No 5 version 3'.
