Rare picture sleeve
Picture sleeves were important marketing tools because they gave teenagers a free picture of their heroes, and something they could tack up in their bedroom while the record played and played and played.
More often than not, these sleeve have pin holes, tape stains, massive ring wear or seam splits, but not this one. This seems to have been taken off the record when it was new, and never used again. It's a crisp and new as if it were just bought. There's not even the indentation of the record tell you that it ever housed the single.
While the Beatles were great at printing up vast quantities of their picture sleeves, it seems that their rivals the Rolling Stones were not quite as generous and their early sleeves can get rather hard to find. This one is for their third picture sleeve in the USA, and pairs up “It’s All Over Now” and “Good Times, Bad Times.” It’s from July of 1964, and was another smash hit for the group.
CONDITION: SLEEVE is VG++ with minor wear but NO pinholes, tears or creases. RECORD is NEAR MINT !
