UK MONO UNBOXED DECCA RED LABEL SILVER WRITING WITH 'ffff ear' VINYL LP IN LAMINATED SLEEVE WITH POLY-LINED MONO DECCA INNER.
The specific information for dating this particular disc is as follows: 'Tell Me' long version, plays 4:06 minutes. The matrix XARL6272-3A on the B-side indicates the very first issue of this mix replacement. Non-grooved label, as the grooved label was in use until the summer of 1968, this album was pressed late 1968 to 1969, when the non-boxed DECCA was changed into a boxed DECCA logo. This is the third known cover, dating from 1966 onwards, and has “Printed in England by MacNeill Press, London S.E.1”. The label had many changes during the 1960s, with at least four in 1964 alone. Labels were used randomly during the entire pressing era. New labels received from printers were just put into stock and used as and when. Old stock was not used up first, which accounts for the multiple variations throughout the 1960s of labels and discs in relation to sleeves. The year of manufacturing can only be determined by looking at the label, cover, pressing, tax codes and matrix numbers all together. This copy has an estimated time of manufacturing being 1968-69. The label features: Made In England By Decca Record Co / Publisher of 'Honest I Do' (Reed) is Burlington / (p)1964 at centre bottom / Title 4 is 'I Need You Baby' / Tax Code is J/T / 'Route 66' becomes (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66' / Copyright box: NCB and BIEM box are on the left side of the label / Arial looking font style.

DISCS: EXCELLENT MINUS. NO SCRATCHES AND MINIMAL SPINDLE WEAR. SOME VERY LIGHT HAIRLINES AND SIGNS OF PLAY BUT THIS IS A REALLY CLEAN COPY, ON THICK DECCA VINYL, THAT PLAYS AND SOUNDS AMAZING WITH NO SKIPS, JUMPS OR SURFACE NOISES. IT IS ONE OF THE CLEANEST SOUNDING AND LOOKING COPIES WE HAVE SEEN OF THIS TITLE FOR SOME TIME, USUALLY THEY ARE PLAYED TO DEATH. IF YOU WANT TO HEAR HOW THE STONES' SOUNDED IN TRUE MONO ON THEIR DEBUT ALBUM, AND CAN'T QUITE STRETCH TO THE PRICE OF A NEAR MINT GROOVED LABEL COPY, THEN THIS SHOULD SATISFY ALL BUT A PERFECTIONIST.
