This is a very good example of the an early Mono pressing of the classic Stones album, complete with the 3D gatefold sleeve and red inner sleeve. It is on the Decca label Cat. No. TXL 103. The label colour is blue. The Matrix nos. are: Side 1 - ARL-8126-IP; Side 2 - ARL-8127-PI. Other stampings on the run-out groove are not clearly legible, apart from K (or R) T on side 1, and 2D on side 2. Not being in the business I don't know what these marks mean although I believe they may have some significance as to pressing info.
The record is in very reasonable though not mint condition. There are a few visible marks and it looks like it may have some time been treated with record 'anti-static' cleaner. I have played it recently though and there are no scratches which cause the record quality to sound bad or the stylus to jump, just a few static 'pops and clicks'. If this record were professionally cleaned it would come up almost like new I'm sure.
The gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition, with the plastic hologram lying flat on the surface and not bowed; the spine is solid and the edges crisp. Inside the artwork is clean and unmarked, as you can hopefully see from the detailed photo. The back cover is of similar quality. The red inner is not torn or marked but has slits on two sides where the record has cut through over the years.
This is a genuine record which has been very little played over the last 35 years and in view of its pedigree is highly collectable in my opinion. In view of the value of this item I am quoting for Royal Mail Special Delivery post to the UK and Signed For delivery to Europe and Worldwide. It will be well packed in a heavy duty plastic protective sleeve, and with stiff and corrugated cardboard and marked Fragile.
