ROLLING STONES Sticky Fingers UK LP LARGE ZIP A4/B4 Promotone NV on label
The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers.
1971 UK pressed Rolling Stones Records stereo LP, COC 59100.
Issue Points:- 'A Promotone N.V. Record' to labels at 9 o'clock. This is removed on later pressings.
- Early A4/B4 matrix suffixes. (Although this doesn't sound early A3/B3 matrix is the first known matrix for this release).
- T.M.L. ROLLING STONES RECORDS etched to both sides at run-offs/dead wax.
- "Large" metal zipper with PAN to zip.
- Sleeve is open at both top and bottom of sleeve.
- No writing to rear of sleeve, which just has the tongue logo to bottom right.
- Insert with picture of band on one side.
Vinyl visually a solid VG. Surfaces are still glossy, although displaying a few light scuffs and gentle hairline scratches. No really deep digs or gouges. Some spider trail activity visible at centre spindle areas but not excessively so.
Play grades VG. Some background crackle and soft ticks, but much also plays VG plus and EX.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Insert is fairly solid. Not torn. One really tiny barely noticeable tan liquid splash stain to text side. Slight handling toning and creasing but nothing which detracts substantially from overall appearance.
Plain paper die-cut inner appears original with "Made in England" and "Patent No. 1,125,555". This is in sound condition with no splits and just a couple of dots of tan stains.
External sleeve starting to show signs of wear. A piece of loss at the top of the front panel above the zip (shows in the photo as an area of brown). Some tan stains and some very light storage spotting along right hand edge of front panel. Small patch of removed sticker residue to top right corner of front panel, similar but smaller to centre of rear panel. Some other light scrapes and hairlines. Some more visible surface scrapes to centre of rear panel, but this is fairly common as these LPs were originally shipped together and the zips rubbed against the rear of the sleeves. No seam splits but edges worn and tips worn and starting to round. Much of the spine text is rubbed through. Zipper is still functional.
