ROLLING STONES - Some Girls

Original Pressing UK Vinyl LP with withdrawn sleeve 1978 - EXCELLENT!

 

Catalogue Number:

  • Rolling Stones Records CUM 39108

Description:

  • Original 1978 UK VINYL LP in withdrawn sleeve + inner
  • Housed in the original die-cut sleeve design by Peter Corriston featuring The Rolling Stones in drag alongside select female celebrities and lingerie ads. 
  • The cover immediately ran into trouble when Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (representing her mother Judy Garland), Raquel Welch, and the estate of Marilyn Monroe threatened legal action. 
  • It was withdrawn and the women's likenesses were removed on later pressings.
  • Complete with its original 'withdrawn' inner-sleeve featuring all of the above mentioned famous faces
  • The Garrod & Lofthuse printed sleeve was available in several different colour combinations. This one has the album title in red over blue, pink, green and yellow bars.
  • Matrix numbers:  A-4U / B-1U

Condition:

  • The record is in EXCELLENT condition with a visible surface mark across tracks 2 & 3 on side two. This is NOT a scratch and the record plays through perfectly. Elsewhere the vinyl is bright and shiny and the labels are clean with no spindle marks

  • The sleeve is NEAR MINT with no defects other than a small red "X" on the back top right corner which I think is an ID/stock mark from the original record store in 1978

  • Likewise the heavy card inner sleeve is NEAR MINT with no defects
