From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional MINT- example of the iconic album by THE ROLLING STONES titled “STICKY FINGERS”, Catalogue Number COC 59100. This is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK STEREO PRESSING on the ROLLING STONES RECORDS LABEL, with a superb 1st ISSUE ANDY WARHOL DESIGNED ZIP SLEEVE. Complete with the elusive picture/credits insert. [The matrix numbers are A4/B3 and “T.M.L. ROLLING STONES RECORDS” is etched in the run-outs of both sides].
The zip sleeve is in EX condition. The zip is free of corrosion and works perfectly. Unusually there is no wear or creasing to the fragile flap above the belt buckle. There is a small surface scuff near the top right corner of the front cover and a short bruise to the right edge. It is otherwise a beautiful example of this iconic sleeve.
The record is in MINT- condition. It’s a fairly solid pressing with a tapered rim edge. The yellow grooved RSR labels are unmarked with no obvious spindle traces (although the record has received a few careful plays). There is virtually no wear to the spindle hole. Audio playback is MINT- throughout. Both sides play essentially as new. This is a top quality pressing which was pressed with barely any residual surface sound at all. Lead-in and linking grooves play with near silence and the quiet introductions and passages all play perfectly. It is notoriously difficult to find a perfect-playing copy of Sticky Fingers – but this one comes close. I think that it will be almost impossible to find another copy of this standard.
The picture/credits insert has a few small creases to one side edge and a few age spots. It is otherwise in EX shape.
Complete with the correct white die-cut inner sleeve which is in unmarked EX condition.
Overall this is a beautiful example of one of the Stones’ classic albums from their golden 1968-1972 period.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects. Still a very presentable sleeve.
