"Out Of Our Heads"
Without a doubt the rarest commercially sold US LP is the blue label LONDON 'FFRR' STEREO 1965 1st press original London PS-429, with the 'STEREO' cover as opposed to the more common 'Stereo (Electronically Rechanneled)' cover notation, and the UK EXPORT TO THE US ONLY stereo London label LP.
This is the copy you've been waiting for, VIRTUALLY MINT in the shrink WITH the "Includes the hit "Satisfaction" sticker on the shrink. The sticker is pristine white & flat. The shrink is slightly crinkled and 'pushed' from the right side toward the center but this is simply because it was like that when the LP went into storage and it has become 'comfortable' in that position. There is one tiny spot on the back where the shrinkwrap's 'seam' has pulled apart about 3/8" and there is a slight yellow 'age' mark on the back at that point, but the shrink is otherwise totally intact and the back is otherwise brilliant. (You can just barely make this out in the back cover pic, it is really minor)
A local resident was stationed in Germany in the mid-60's and bought his records at the military PX, which is where many, many EXPORT ONLY versions of UK, US, German & Swiss LP's were sold. This particular soldier bought a lot of records which, apparently, he never had time to play! This has been opened, but the original shrinkwrap and the $2.50 PX price tag is still on it!
Thus, the back cover, other than the one tiny spot noted above, is virtually PRISTINE MINT WHITE, the cover has NO creases or wear ring whatsoever, the album FOUGHT when I pulled it out of the poly-lined inner sleeve where it has rested undisturbed for nearly 40 years.
You will NEVER EVER find a cleaner copy of this unless you find one still sealed. The cover is perfect, with nice clean sharp corners, spine print straight up and down and centered, the LP is STUNNING !!! You could comb your hair with the vinyl as a mirror. Happy bidding and good luck, you'll wait a LONG time to see another one like this.
