THE ROLLING STONES No2 :- Original 1965 UK Decca LK 4661 Mono LP

When the first print of the LP sleeve was issued , the rear sleeve notes included the wording -

"..........If you don't have bread , see that blind man knock him on the head , steal his wallet and low and behold you have the loot , if you put in the boot , good ,another one sold!"

There was considerable pressure put on Decca to reprint the sleeve , omitting the 'offensive' wording...........

Decca soon began the process of having new 'censored' sleeves printed , leaving out the 'offensive' wording ,  but as they had a number of original sleeves still unused , a number of these original sleeves were 'pasted over' with the censored liner notes printed on a specially made 'rear sleeve panel' with the offending wording omitted..............the paste over sleeves are detectable by looking at the rear of the sleeve , and where the front sleeve laminate usually comes around to the sleeve rear ( and ends about half an inch in ) you can see the censored sleeve panel comes up to the edge of the spine ( see photo ) also , if you hold the sleeve up to a strong light , you can see the original sleeve print beneath the replacement panel.....................

These original censored panel sleeves were soon replaced by the newly manufactured censored layout sleeves..............The original 'censored panel' copies are very difficult to find....here is a great copy...............

Condition of Vinyl:- It is difficult to find fault with the playing surfaces of the disc, no marks or signs of wear at all..........The sound quality is Perfect. Graded at MINT condition.

Label Condition:- Beautifully crisp and bright , just a little spindle use evident : EXCELLENT+ condition.

Condition of Sleeve:-

Front: The laminated front has light wear , just a few light creases , edges and corners very crisp : EXCELLENT condition.

Rear: The rear panel has very light wear , very bright and clean : EXCELLENT condition.

Spine: No spine wear at all : EXCELLENT+ condition.

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings ........I notice that the usual practice by many sellers on eBay is using the buzzwords 'Stunning' , 'Superb' , 'Awesome' 'etc etc etc...... and have grossly long-winded descriptions .............these 'experts' also add technical information , which is totally unrelated and untrue to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading , and tends to hide the fact that the items on offer are only Average/Very Good , substandard items........and a 1000 word essay with vague photographs does not make what is a VG condition item into Mint condition item.................. I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records........

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice......and Segovia!!)
