Description
The Rolling Stones : Let It Bleed 3W / 1W + Original Poster
This early boxed stereo plays with wonderful audio for the majority and includes the iconic poster.
The laminated cover has the rarer 'Sleeve printed in England' on it and was produced around 1969 and 1970. It remains in great condition as does the original blue inner which has the 'London Bach Choir' credit. The poster has some wear on the corners but is otherwise very clean.

Visual grading
This vinyl is visually very impressive and retains a lovely glossy sheen. I have looked under various lights and all I can detect are a small number of faint hairlines and there are certainly no scratches. There are a couple of longer hairlines on S2 but they do not affect the audio. There is very little spindle so I suspect this album has not been played a great deal. The run out grooves are also incredibly clean and there is the JT tax stamp on each side. This tax code was discontinued after April 1973 so this is one of the earlier boxed pressings.
Play grading
'Gimme Shelter' has barely any static on the intro, just a little distortion on the top end but as soon as the vocal starts this has largely disappeared. Thereafter it plays with great power and depth and as is synonymous with this track the bass is so strong and 'high' in the mix. There are no clicks, pops or crackle and this is a superb start to this classic album. The fade out also plays nigh on perfectly.
The quiet acoustic intro on 'Love In Vain' has only a handful of mega quiet ticks and plays with exceptionally clear audio. Once the vocal begins there is perhaps a little more static in the background but it is in no way intrusive. It then plays with wonderful clarity throughout and the mandolin section plays with near perfect precision. This is a very impressive version and there is nothing that intrudes on the audio and again there are no clicks or pops. There is only a minimal touch of background static here and there but as I say this is not intrusive and the many instrumental sections play with great clarity.
'Country Honk' is superb from start to finish. There is no interference on the 'passing car' intro and it then plays with sublime depth and clarity. This is as near to perfect as is possible. I'm trying to find a negative but it's proving difficult. A fantastic version without doubt and no distortion either which is a rarity.
'Live With Me' is again stunning from the first note. Richard's (yes Richard's) bass intro has barely any static and the track then knocks your socks off! It plays with incredible power and depth and again there is no interference of any kind. This grades as Mint- without question and again there is no distortion anywhere. A fantastic version if ever there was one!
'Let It Bleed' is another track that performs admirably from the first groove. There is no 'background' on the quiet intro and this clarity continues with only one faint click about one minute in. There is just a little distortion on the top end here but that isn't uncommon being the final track on the side where the grooves are often pressed closer together. It still plays extremely well with no other interference apart from a little static right at the end of the fade out.

'Midnight Rambler' plays clearly from the outset but there is a just a minimal touch of static distortion in the background. It is quiet and to many may not be obvious at all. Don't get me wrong it still plays superbly for such an early pressing! There is no other 'background' and the instrumental section plays very strongly and with no clicks or pops. A stunning bass sound also. The following quieter section does have some minor crackle and a handful of light clicks at the start but once the vocal starts up again this has disappeared, just minor static in the background. The remainder plays with great power and no interference.
'You Got The Silver' has barely any static on the intro and is very impressive. As it continues there is one faint click and a little background static but for a relatively quiet track it plays very well indeed. As it gets louder the audio is superb and there is very little distortion on the top level.
'Monkey Man' plays with very strong audio from the word go. It plays loud and true and with very little static and there are no clicks or pops. The instrumental section is stunning and plays with great clarity. A very impressive version and the fade out is also nigh on perfect.
'You Can't Always Get What You Want' has some static on the intro and one click but once the acoustic section begins there is very little 'background'. Once you hear the vocal the clarity is superb and it continues in the same fashion. There is just minimal distortion here and there but it is non-intrusive in my opinion and still plays very clearly. To be honest I think this is just how the stereo versions were pressed. Anyway, the remainder of this classic still plays with very impressive audio and there are no clicks or pops. The end 'choir' section in particular plays superbly and provides a fitting end to this classic album.
The Cover
This laminated cover is in great condition and has very little shelf wear. In fact there are no obvious negatives! The edges and thin pinched spine are in superb order with no rubbing/wear at all and there is also only very minor corner wear. Very minor! The opening edge is super clean with next to no handling wear. The laminated front cover has no splits or lifts and no marking, just a few small creases around the edges which is common. The back cover has only very light ringwear and a little fading but it is still a very clean example. This is a wonderful version overall and will add to any collection.
Blue Stereo Inner sleeve & Poster
The original Decca sleeve has no splits or tears, just some creasing here and there. It also has the 'London Bach Choir' credit confirming this as an early pressing.
The original poster has obviously been 'used' at some point as the two left hand corners are missing. Apart from that it is very clean with a couple of tape marks on the top corners also. This is made with on the thinner paper and is not the glossy version.
The labels
The labels are in fantastic condition and have barely any spindle wear. They are super clean with no marking/writing and have the JT tax stamp on both sides.
