UK: BETWEEN NOVEMBER 23RD 1968 AND UP TO APRIL 1ST 1973. GOING BY THE COVER I BELIEVE THAT THIS EITHER A VERY LATE 1972 COPY OR A VERY EARLY 1973 COPY AS IT'S FULLY LAMINATED BUT DOES NOT HAVE THE STEREO/MONO HOLE IN THE BACK WHICH THE THIRD COVER DID AND THE FOURTH COVER DID NOT. ALSO THE FORTH COVER WAS NOT LAMINATED AS WAS THE THIRD COVER.( BUT POSSIBLY BE A 1969 COPY DUE TO THE DATE 6 69 ON THE INNER SLEEVE )
BELOW INFO BORROWED FROM: STONES ON DECCA
The following details can be noted on the third cover version:
- Laminated cover
- Double cardboard front cover
- Mono / Stereo hole on the back
- No booklet attached to the inside of the cover
The difference in between the second and third cover is that the third one has this jacket for an LP in the front cover. I cannot put a manufacturing date on it but I have it together with a boxed greyish blue label. The colour of the label was probably changed in 1972.
Laminated covers was dropped from manufacturing 1974 so this would be dated 1971 to 1974. A detail to notice is that the hole on the back cover is still there even though the manufacturing of Mono LP’s had ended by 1970.
The following details can be noted on the fourth cover version:
- Standard cover missing the lamination
- Double cardboard front cover
- TXS101 printed on the back
- No booklet attached to the inside of the cover during mid 70's
- The booklet pictures was addad as an insert in the late 70’s
This cover was in use from c 1974 until the end of the Decca story. It is only found with greyish blue boxed labels.
TAX STAMPER : JT USED BETWEEN 23RD NOVEMBER 1968 AND APRIL 1ST 1973
DECCA UK
NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS A BIT CONFUSING, AFTER 1972 THE LABELS ARE THEN GREYISH BLUE BUT MINE IS STILL GREEN WHICH WAS ENDED IN 1972. ALSO IN 1970/1972 THE WORDING : " ELECTRONICALLY RE-PROCESSED FOR STEREO" WAS ADDED TO THE LABELS EITHER ACROSS THE TOP OF THE HOLE OR THE BOTTOM RIGHT. ON THIS COPY IT IS TO THE TOP RIGHT OF THE HOLE (SEE PICTURE)
MATRIX NUMBERS : SIDE 1 XZAL-7503-6D SIDE 2 XZAL-7504-6D (D DENOTES THE ENGINEERS NAME JACK LAW)

Grading
My photos and descriptions will be accurate and fair, so you can bid with confidence. (Please see my feedback)
All records have been visual and play graded.
All records are graded using the RARE RECORD PRICE GUIDE. I have been collecting records for many years and grade my records very strictly. Please find my grading system below.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
PLEASE NOTE THAT P& P CHARGES INCLUDE PROFESSIONAL MAILER SO YOUR RECORDS WILL ARRIVE IN THE CONDITION YOU BUY THEM.
ALL RECORDS WILL ONLY BE POSTED RECORDED MAIL ABROAD AND TRACKED/RECORDED IN UK SO I FULLY COVER MYSELF AND OF COURSE YOU AS A BUYER.
Please note that I always obtain proof of postage.
Please bid with confidence. Thanks for looking and good luck.
