Here's a clean playing copy of one of their best albums..

This plays EX minus (maybe slightly less)..The sleeve is VG minus..Full details below!...

Issued by Decca on 6th December 1968..LK 4955..UK pressing in a Garrod And Lofthouse sleeve..MONO.

The matrix numbers are: 4A and 2A..

The mothers and stampers are:..1GA ..The same on each side...

This looks like a first press to me..

There are several label designs on this album and to my knowledge,this has all the details of a first press..("Side1" is on the left of the label,the publisher credits are on the left and the JT tax code is below the date on the bottom of the label)..The sleeve was made by Garrod And Lofthouse (later pressings had Robert Stace sleeves),but there is NO "Patents Pending" on the back..Inside the gatefold,the flipbacks are visible at the bottom..(On later pressings they are not)..

Play grade is EX minus..Not that there are any real serious defects or damage..There are a couple of light pops on the first side,but they are deep in the mix and not loud...There is no significant crackle..Overall,the sound is clean and bright..Maybe just a hint of groovewear (slight loss of crispness on the top treble),but it's not too serious..Have a listen and see what you think..

Visually the disc is VG minus at best with the A side looking worse than the B side as it has a visible scuff which runs across the first 2 tracks..Both sides have smaller scuffs and quite a few hairlines..But,there are no real deep or dangerous scratches..The disc has lost quite a lot of it's sheen....

The disc plays flat on the turntable with no edgewarps..

The labels are undamaged,but there is visible spindle wear... 

The gatefold sleeve is VG minus..Here are the defects (you may grade it a bit lower,or higher than me!)..There is some yellowing to the white and there are a few grubby specks (both front and back)..The back also has some scuffing in the middle (Not through the laminte)...The corners show the card underneath..The spine is tatty (most of the text is not legible and it has rubbing which shows the card underneath)..The opening edges have a little rubbing and the back one has some tape marks..Inside the gatefold,there is sellotape damage along the edge of the right flap and along the bottom edge..It looks as if the bottom flipbacks have been reglued at some stage ...The laminate has a few light creases...

There are no rips,tears,seamsplits or scribble..

Plain white paper inner sleeve..

There are delays on post going INTO the USA due to an increased scanning of packages at US Customs (Anti terrorist measures,I believe)..Parcels ARE being delayed and delivery may take a MONTH!!..

The Russian Federation is also having delays on deliveries ..This is due to the sheer volume of parcels going into the Federation..Again,expect delays!.

All items are securely and professionally packed..Records are shipped out of their jackets to prevent seam splits..If there is an inner sleeve or a picture sleeve,then the disc will be packed in a plain white sleeve.. I try and keep shipping costs to an absolute minimum,byut Paypal don't help by taking commission on the postal costs!!
