Sadly Ebay are back to exploiting their monopoly position and doing their utmost to kill off the 99p listing.
I'd advise all private sellers to check the recent Ebay small print very carefully. From May 13th, after the first few listings each month there is a new listing charge of 35p per item - so an album selling for 99p will now typically incur fees of 35p to list, 10p selling commission, 30-40p Ebay tax on your postage charge and about 35p in Paypal charges.
That means of your 99p the Ebay snouts in the trough will take £1.25 - even more if you mail abroad (up to a few months ago they were 'only' taking about 45p). Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
Don't list any items likely to sell for small amounts until you have a reasonable idea of what they are going to skin you for.
My own apologies to regular buyers, but I am now forced to list less and at a higher starting price - I won't be ripped off even more by this increasingly greedy auction host. It will just have to take me longer to clear my collection

ROLLING STONES - Beggars Banquet - UK Stereo LP
These records are all from my personal collection built up over almost 50 years. Some were bought new, others pre-owned so condition will vary. Please do read and understand the detailed description which is my honest personal assessment - you can always check how good or bad that is by checking my feedback. My attempt at grading is based on the commonly used Record Collector grading system. Questions are welcome if anything is unclear. Happy bidding
Anyway, this listing is for a nice copy of The Stones' brilliant 1968 album

Cat Number: SKL 4955 dead wax matrix numbers K2 / K3
Mode: Stereo
The Album:
Golden age Stones with Jones - and a bit of help from Nicky Hopkins. One owner since new. Not the very first issue but an early pressing. I did not buy this when it was released - in fact I reckon I picked it up after I'd bought Let it Bleed so it has the boxed Decca stereo label. I have played it a few times, I bought my records to play not to preserve, but it has certainly not been overplayed and it has been well looked after.
Cover: Laminated Rober Stace gatefold sleeve is in great order. It has a small indentation on the front and a similarly placed one on the rear which puzzled me at first, but which I think must have been made by the zip of sticky Fingers when they shared adjacent shelf space. There's just a touch of laminate creasing but it's generally very strong and intact with no tears stickers or writing. The spine is fine with fully legible text despite the crease where it hinges.
Labels: Decca labels in the early 70's boxed logo. A smallish number of visible spindle marks, no stickers or writing.
Vinyl: Vinyl is very nice with a few of the expected paper scrapes, no nasty marks. It plays really well throughout
Overall:
A very nice copy of this album - I'd guess it would professionally grade at (cover/vinyl) VG+ / EX
Terms:
Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing, but do not have time to play fully in all cases. I just played a lot of this one, but if you do discover a problem which I might have missed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do all I can to rectify the situation. .
Postage: Reflecting new Royal Mail charges April 2014: Within UK, weight ranges usually allow up to three LPs to be posted for the same cost as one. For all other destinations costs are weight dependent, but incremental cost from additional LP's will normally cost less than the first. I am happy to hold records for a while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment, but it helps if you can let me know particularly when bidding on items separated by a few days. Approximate prices for normal postage & packing -
UK £3.55 for up to 1kg (1,2 or 3 average weight LPs).
Europe £5.50 normal airmail, £10.50 signed-for. + £1.45 each additional,
Rest of world £7.80 normal airmail, £12.80 signed-for. + £2.70 each additional item
These amounts include actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 35p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener). The greedy snouts in the trough at Ebay now charge sellers 10% of postage costs for which there can be no justification - I refuse to pass this shameful levy on to buyers, so you only pay post and packing.
Apologies, but owing to unreliability of some postal services, I will not ship to Italy, Russian Federation, & other former Soviet countries unless a signed for service is selected and paid for.
Losses: Royal Mail have reduced maximum compensation to £20 unless items are signed-for. Compensation on signed-for shipments is up to £50. Overseas purchasers - if your purchase is well over £20, a signed for service must be selected when paying or shipping will be at your own risk, not mine, and normal airmail will only be covered for up to £20.
Payment by Sterling cheque / money order, or via Paypal
I have decided to sell my whole vinyl collection as I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or grandchildren, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. Listed items are selected at random so there should be a decent if not particularly logical mix coming up over the next few months if you keep an eye on my other items now and in the future.
Thank you to all who have already given new homes to my precious vinyl, and may you continue to enjoy these records for years to come.
