Description
Did you see the Stones live and want more? Perhaps you didn't and you are looking for consolation?! Perhaps something for that someone who did/did not go as a late Christmas present?!?!?
This is the Stones 2nd pressing of their first LP in 1964. It is on the unboxed Decca label Cat. LK 4605 (mono) Matrix: Side one = XARL-627-2A Side two = XARL-6272-3A
Outer sleeve and label (RARE!) lists MONA (McDaniels). Later copies list this track as I NEED YOU BABY
This RARE copy also lists YOU CAN MAKE IT IF YOU TRY with the word IF missing! Sleeve also miscredits Bozier rather than Dozier as co-writer for CAN I GET A WITNESS?!
It also plays the 4:06 version of TELL ME (YOU ARE COMING BACK) with the abrupt ending!
CONDITION Both labels are near perfect with very little sign of spindle wear.
Side one: Two minor surface scratches, 2 and 3 cms in length running across some bands.
Side two: One 'feelable' scratch running through a part of TELL ME. The above scratches are hardly audible due to the fast, upbeat nature of the tracks! The rest of the record is pretty damn clean!
Sleeve - Clarifoil intact, but a little creased in the ringwear areas. The Stones faces are unaffected bar a small clarifoil wrinkle on Jones's face. There are two (hardly noticeable) 3cm tears to the bottom right of the sleeve. These have been carefully repaired from the inside of the sleeve. The spine is slightly flattened through storage, but otherwise intact. Slight browning through age to rear cover. Inner sleeve intact with plastic lining.
