Description
Here we have a SCARCE early era, 1ST PRESSING, LP by THE ROLLING STONES . Titled ; "BEGGARS BANQUET" (1968) .
This is a COLLECTOR'S ITEM, it being a (rare) STEREO FIRST PRESSING (unboxed logo).
As well as being SCARCE, this is a great album with several great songs including "Sympathy For The Devil" , "Jig-Saw Puzzle", "Street Fighting Man" , & "Stray Cat Blues". All 10 songs on the Album are credited to Mick Jagger & Keith Richard, however, "Prodigal Son" was actually written by veteran Bluesman, Rev. Robert Wilkins. My favourite Stones Album, 10 out of 10 !
Features the Original Line-Up of Mick Jagger, Keith Richard, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts & Brian Jones (his last Stones LP whilst alive). Nicky Hopkins plays Piano. Ric Grech (Family & Blind Faith) plays Fiddle on "Factory Girl; Dave Mason (Traffic) plays Mandolin on the same track.
"BEGGARS BANQUET" . Matrix 2K / 1K ; FIRST PRESS, UK DECCA Stereo, Unboxed Logo, SKL 4955 . Vinyl is:- Side 1 ; visually EXC.- (one mild surface mark). Plays really well ; Graded EXCELLENT. Side 2 ; visual, VG++ (a couple of minor surface marks). Plays really well, no crackle, but a couple of clicks; Graded EXCELLENT- . Gatefold Sleeve, VG++ (complete; slightly misaligned where the sleeve has been folded wrongly before gluing); Really Good Spine . Original (correct era) Inner Sleeve complete with helpful track times & notes from the original owner ! .
Overall package Graded at EXCELLENT- .
