Original UK STEREO 1st Pressing with 1B/1B Stampers!

On offer here is an original UK STEREO copy of the Rolling Stones LP Between the Buttons.

Original stereo copies of their albums are difficult to find and so, so rarely come up for sale. This is because, back when this album was originally released, stereogram record players were still a novelty that only the very well-off could afford. Stereo records were also more expensive than mono and, as such, record shops rarely stocked them, keeping stereo pretty much mail-order only and stocking just the mono presses. Because of this, stereo only sold in very small amounts when this album came out and today are highly collectible!

Not only this, but the stamper codes for this particular copy is 1B/1B - Decca used the word BUCKINGHAM for their stamper numbering system (like how EMI used GRAMOPHLTD for theirs), so to find such a high-selling album feature first mother, first stamper codes is almost unheard of! One of the first few hundred off the production line!!

Title Between the Buttons Group The Rolling Stones Format Stereo Year of Release 1967 Catalogue Number SKL 4852 Label Blue Decca with unboxed logo and grooves Tax Code on Disc KT Sleeve Manufacturer James Upton Ltd Side 1 Matrix Number XZAL-7644-4K Side 2 Matrix Number XZAL-7645-4K Side 1 Stampers 1 / B Side 2 Stampers 1 / B Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in EX- condition. The sleeve is really nice for its age. The front has a wonderfully clean laminate with just a very faint amount of rubbing and disc impression. Wonderful colour. There's a tiny tear on the mouth edge that's about 1cm long. Bottom and top seams are holding fine with no splits or tears. The spine is holding perfect with no damage and with all text fully legible. Back has discoloured just a little but, overall, is really nice and clean. There's just a little wear down the mouth edge and what looks to be initials have been written in blue pen at the top right corner. Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. Holding nicely with no splits or tears and the original plastic lining is still stuck nice and tight. Has some light creasing and disc impression and looks to have discoloured a little. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition
(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in VG+ condition. The disc is looking very nice for its age, but could definitely do with a professional clean as there are some fingerprints and smudges on the playing surface. There is some light scuffing over the playing surface - some a little more noticeable than others, but there's nothing serious or nasty looking. Label Condition The labels are in EX+ condition. Both labels are very clean with no writing or damage with just a little, light spindlewear around the centrehole.

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve and extra
sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable.

My Vinyl Grading:

MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
