Massively Rare Original 1965 UK Mono 1st Pressing 'No. 2' by The Rolling Stones on Red Ridged 'Unboxed' Decca Label with withdrawn 'Blind Man Text'!!!!! In absoloutly Stunning Condition Throughout!!!
Where do I start!!!!! I think you all know how rare this record is!!!!! You are bidding on a Stunning ORIGINAL 1965 UK Mono 1st Press of the classic 'No. 2' by The Rolling Stones!!!! It is the Orig. 1965 UK Mono 'Unboxed' Decca 1st PRESSING on the classic 1st Press 'Ridged' Centre Label!!!! Not only that but it comes with its ORIGINAL 1st Press Laminated James Upton Sleeve containing the infamous withdrawn 'Blindman' Text by Andrew Loog Oldham!!!!! - This is a hugely rare LP!!!!! Most of these old Stones UK 1st Pressings albums have long since been trashed, and only very rarely do they turn up any more, and when they do it is NEVER in this condition!!!! This may be your only chance to own this massively rare record-don't miss out!!!! The cool 1960's quality pressed thick & chunky vinyl is in STUNNING visual and aural condition. It has NO Groove wear, and NO deep scratches!!!!! This really is a beautiful LP, it shines as new with that 'just pressed' look, and is pressed on very strong quality UK THICK vinyl!!!! It is massively rare to find this LP in this kind of condition, don't miss this one- I cannot underestimate the importance of this LP, it more than any other, captures the Stones at their mid-60's Swaggering, Posing, and Sneering best - it is utterly compelling right from the opening bars of Solomon Burke's 'Everybody Needs Somebody to love' right through to 'Suzie-Q'. It, more than its predecessor, arrogantly announced the arrival of what became arguably world's greatest Rock Band- Absolutely essential... The vinyl shines as as if it were pressed yesterday!!!! It looks and feels great!!! The vinyl has NO serious Scratches, NO groove-wear, No warping. It has just the occasional light (non sounding) surface mark. I would thus have no hesitation on grading this vinyl as Very Good+ at the very least!!!! The Unboxed Ridged Centre Labels are in superb Very Good condition, nice and clean with No writing or unwanted scribbles at all, although here are a few visible spindle lines and just a tiny bit of paper lifting around a small portion of the spindle hole on side 1. The gramophone rims containing the all-important matrix's are mint!!! The classic David Bailey-shot 'MONO' Laminated James Upton sleeve is also in superb condition!!!! The It has NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! It is completely blemish free!!! The laminate is in stunning condition with NO peeling or tears, and just the smallest isolated laminate creases. The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with very little EDGE WEAR and NO RING WEAR!!!! The unlaminated 'Mono' back containing the important 'Blind Man' Text is amazing!!!! It has a whiteness to it that is very, very rare for this LP, most have become very grubby and yellowed with age- Not this one!!!!! It has no discolouration at all!!!!! It has a minimal spine and corner wear!!!! The opening edge is also very nice, with very little sign of the feathering which is very common with this LP. This sleeve grades as Very Good+ at the very least!!!! It even comes complete with its original 'starred' poly-lined windowed 'British patent' inner sleeve. This particular record comes from a massive collection recently acquired from a local gentleman (1000+ records, many of which are rare 1st Pressing Mono/Imports/Private Pressings etc 1960's/70's Rock/Prog/Psych records [a substantial number having a book price well in excess of £350!]). This, along with all the others from this particular collection were all bought as new by the Gentleman and have had no other owners. Most are original 1st pressings and the whole collection is in absolutely stunning condition. In the 60's & 70's we didn't think to preserve our records, we were too busy being liberated! As such, you will find most of these albums (the few that remain) in very poor condition nowadays. This is due to a number of factors, i.e. age and bad handling/storage methods and general vinyl deterioration, not to mention the amount of parties they've attended! So to find one in such superb condition is a real rarity. What's more, the low starting price and no reserve status gives you a realistic chance of winning and owning this highly sought-after album. Good Luck! The UK Record Collector Grading System NAME GRADE INFORMATION Mint M Vinyl has just left the vinyl pressing machine and does not have any manufacturing flaws. It has never been handled and never played. Unless you work at the record plant, there is no such thing as mint! Record sleeves just left the pressing machine that made the sleeve. It has never been handled and a record has not been placed inside it which would deform it. Unless you work at the record plant, there is no such thing as mint! Near Mint NM Vinyl is virtually perfect. At most, perhaps a light scuff appears on the record. It should play without any noise or skips of any kind whatsoever. Record sleeve should look close to perfect with only minor signs of wear. The artwork should have no marks of any kind and there should be no "ring wear" (that is, the outline of the record inside should not show through the sleeve). Excellent EX or VG++ Vinyl should play with no skips of any kind. It should sound better than it looks. Often "Excellent" or "VG++" is a conservative version of "Near Mint." Perhaps some very minor surface scuffs, but again no effect on sound quality. Record sleeve might have some minor "ring wear" but otherwise the artwork should be unaffected. There should be no "ink wear" to the artwork. That is areas where the ink has worn down to the paper underneath. Perhaps some minor creases in the corners but no splits in the seams. Very Good Plus VG+ Vinyl will show wear including surface scuffs and some light scratches. Often, minor scuffs will be caused by the inner sleeve rubbing against the vinyl. If held up to a bright light, you will often see many tiny lines on the vinyl. Perhaps a few minor clicks or pops can be heard, but no deep scratches. Record sleeve should be clean, but slightly more aged. Perhaps some very small writing on the sleeve. The corners may be slightly bent, but not broken. There may be wear to the seams but not tears or holes popping through. Very Good VG Vinyl doesn't necessarily look good, but still plays well. Surface noise will probably be present including pops and clicks. At good volume levels, the music should overpower any pops and clicks present. Flaws should only be heard between tracks or on low volume passages. Record sleeve will look warn and used. There may be seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other. There will be noticeable ring wear on the cover, but most of the cover should still be in good condition. Good VG-/G+/G Vinyl looks well played, dull, and possibly not well taken care of. However, the record should still play without skipping. It will have substantial surface noise, pops and clicks. Loss of various parts of the dynamic range will occur due to worn grooves. This grade depends a lot on the owner and the type of record. A rock record may still sound "good" at high volume whereas a slower styles of music will sound terrible. Record sleeve may have many problems including seam splits, writing, taped repairs. However some of the artwork will still be visible. There can't be large tears and gouges in the cover. Fair/Poor F/P Doesn't meet the lowest standards for "good". At this point, the vinyl is difficult to listen to. The only reason to keep it would be due to extreme rarity or to fill a good sleeve until a better copy of the vinyl comes along. Doesn't meet the lowest standards for "good".
