Another from my personal collection! Purchased from new and stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover! This is how I have always stored my records!  Also this is a very early original 1st UK pressing features the Earliest possible #1#1 matrix ending and large swirl logo on the labels (only 1st UK press) .  Absolutely stunning top audio on my systems! Graded at Near Mint through out!  Any interference is just light static heard perhapes in between tracks or quieter places or the odd light pop could do with a contant cleaning before plays due to being stored in a case laying dormant for over 45 years. Try to find another original UK issue like this! Genuine 46 years old!

Gasoline Alley is the second solo studio album by the British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart.




It was released on 12 June 1970.







Originally released in the UK by Vertigo Records, it was re-mastered and re-issued in 2008 by Russian reissue label, Lilith Records Ltd.



It is a collection of covers combined with Stewart's own compositions.



Like many of Stewart's solo albums from the period, it featured significant musical contributions from the other members of his band Faces.








The album was well received, with Langdon Winner of Rolling Stone feeling that Stewart had "a rare sensitivity for the delicate moments in a person's existence", and that this, Stewart's second solo album, was the work "of a supremely fine artist".

He has had 10 number-one albums and 31 top ten singles in the UK, 6 of which reached number one. Stewart has had 16 top ten singles in the US, with four reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He was knighted in the 2016 Birthday Honours for services to music and charity.

The vinyl

This is the original 1st UK thick and heavier type of  vinyl (only early press) This is free of any warping! This vinyl is in beautiful condition. To be honest I struggle to even see a blemish on the playing surface. Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be sleeve removal type only. Importantly there are no needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops. A real beauty looks barely played in my opinion. Rare to a 50 year old record!

The Audio

This was played on a top system at very loud volume prior to listing   The audio is cristal clear and vibrant with (no) distortion at all! This played through cristal clear and extremely vibrant throughout. Absolutely lovely!  I would class myself as highly critical please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! The audio is graded at  near mint in my opinion. One of the most vibrant copies that I have heard of this pressing! Audio graded near mint as I heard it!

Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years! A build up of dirt and dust over the years causes static ticks\crackle. A constant clean is recomended before each play. From my personal experiance this reduces static crackle and enhances the audio qaulity!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have described the audio quality as honest and as I heard it. Although I never heard any major problems other than prevoiously described, Please allow for the odd light static crackle/ticks/pop here and there (not) consistant through out the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 50 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 50 year old system!


The labels

These are the oiriginal 1st UK issue VERTIGO labels, Just a few light spindle marks around the spindle hole, but you have to look to notice any. This has obviously barely ever been played in my personal opinion. The spindle hole is perfectly round and free of any wear.
 

The Record Sleeve

This is a plain white poly lined paper sleeve! The vinyl has been seperated from the sleeve! light browning/creases with age but no splits or tears.  Please note! An anti static liner was put in when I purchased this album many years ago, to protect the vinyl from the paper sleeve!

The Cover

This is the original 1st press Howards Printers un laminated smooth finish gate fold cover. This is excellent with light general wear and tear with age. Light edge rubbing noted only if looked for in my opinion. A slight sticker removal mark noted can just be seen on the front top left if looked for. light browning/fading and minor indents noted with age related. There are no edge splits or tears no nasty handwriting. Strong and straight without any major creases worth noting. The spine is square and free from any crushing all text is readable. Any rubbing you have to look to notice any in my opinion. This is the original.
