ROBERT JOHNSON ‘KING OF THE DELTA BLUES SINGERS’ ORIGINAL 1966 CBS 1ST UK PRESSING VINYL LP IN LAMINATE SLEEVE A1 + B1

Sleeve Condition: Ex - Ex+, Clean and free from any kind of writing, stickers or marking, defect or damage.

Record Condition: Ex+, lovely shiny bloom still on the vinyl. Totally unmarked, plays perfectly.

If there is such a thing as a greatest-hits package available on Johnson, this landmark album, which jump-started the whole '60s blues revival, would certainly be the one. The majority of Johnson's best-known tunes, the ones that made the legend, are all aboard: "Crossroads," "Walkin' Blues," "Me & the Devil Blues," "Come On In My Kitchen," and the apocalyptic visions contained in "Hellhound On My Trail" are the blues at its finest, the lyrics sheer poetry. If you were starting your blues collection from the ground up, this would have to be your very first purchase.

This really is quite a rare blues album. This, the very first UK CBS issue with A1+B1 stamper codes is in lovely overall condition. The vinyl, obviously very little played and unmarked still retains its original orange advertising inner sleeve. The outer is beautifully preserved with a relatively clean, flipback rear completely free of any previous owner’s marking. A first-rate collector’s copy.
