Description

This is a fine copy from a 1992 reissue of the rare sole LP by the Rising Storm, originally released in a small pressing in 1967.  Probably the best of a small set of LPs recorded during the mid- to late 1960s by prep school students in the Northeast, the Rising Storm's long player also stacks up well against most garage records of the period.  About half of the songs are group compositions, the most striking of which is the fuzz-tone rocker "She Loved Me."  The group also covers songs by local stars the Remains and the Rockin' Ramrods, as well as Love's "A Message to Pretty" and the R&B chestnuts "In the Midnight Hour," "Big Boss Man," and "Baby Please Don't Go."  All are credibly done.  Per the liner notes on the back cover, the group's members were students at Phillips Academy in northeastern Massachusetts.  The jacket has some light to moderate creasing, but is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(-).  The disc has a couple of scrapes on side 2 that have no appreciable effect on play, and is otherwise clean, and plays with occasional light surface noise (EX+).

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.

If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
