Now here’s a rare one for you Ricky Nelson collectors, a promo only 45 of “Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans.” Just as rare as the promo-only release with Ricky singing “My Rifle, My Pony and Me” from the film Rio Bravo, check out this similar promo only single of Ricky Nelson singing with Jack Lemmon on the piano – a song from the new film ‘The Wackiest Ship In The Army.’
This special one-sided promo 45 was shipped out to THEATRES ONLY in December of 1960. As you can hear – it’s intended for play in the lobby in the days before the film arrived at screens. You might not want to wait for the 2nd of these to turn up – as it seldom does turn up at all !
