During the 50's and early 60's, the UK London label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # HLP 8738, we have on offer the following pairing from RICKY NELSON;
DISC 1: "LONESOME TOWN" with Matrix # MSL 2965 in very good plus condition and playing perfectly but with some audible sign of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and quieter sections and with light sleeve rubs. The label is just about perfect without any annotations and showing just a little ring wear (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "MY BABY" with Matrix # MSL 2972 in very good condition and playing perfectly but with some sign of audible crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and noticeable sleeve rubs. The label is showing some signs of ring wear as well as sticker removal residue and has the running time added in ball point pen as well as the catalogue number over-stamped (see picture scan 2).
Supplied with a period plain buff coloured paper sleeve that was normal for demos of this period and it might even be the "birth sleeve" as it has the matching catalogue number on it.
From my personal collection that I'm thinning out so why not check my other listings for more great sounds.
The record will be shipped in a stiffened card outer by Royal Mail Large Letter First Class "Signed For" service only at a cost of £2.99. This provides protection for both parties in the unlikely event of loss.
