Description
Absolutely beautiful copy of the super-rare 1987 privately pressed LP of orchestral music by Richard Carpenter with the Garden Grove Symphony, produced in cooperation with the Radar Institute, and recorded at the Don Wash Auditorium in Garden Grove, California, right near the Carpenters’ old home town of Downey (near Disneyland, for those of you not familiar). This record was privately produced to be sold exclusively at the Don Wash Auditorium, and only for a short period of time. Not many were made and it was never distributed outside Downey. It features Richard playing his Carpenters Piano Fantasy, which incorporates many of the Carpenters’ famous songs, and then on side two he plays Richard Addinsell’s Warsaw Concerto, followed by Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagñol played by the orchestra without Richard. A very special Carpenters rarity, which nearly never comes up for sale. This copy is just beautiful, as well. The disc is very nearly perfectly mint and plays flawlessly and just beautifully, and the cover has only the tiniest signs of gentle use. Truly a top copy, near impossible to beat.
