RICHARD BERRY & THE SOUL SEARCHERS -- Live!! From H.D. Hover Century Restaurant -- hard to find, original 1968 U.S. album; autographed by Berry on back cover. This is the first of two excellent and now wicked rare private press Northern Soul-R&B-Rock LP's put out by the legendary Richard Berry ("Louie Louie") and his ace backing band, The Soul Searchers (the second album, "Wild Berry," has recently been reissued but this hasn't and the original vinyl is still the only way to find it). This was recorded live in December 1967 at a local Los Angeles-area club and features a terrific uptempo Northern Soul vibe on cuts including I'll Be Doggone, She Blew a Good Thing, I'm the One, Now That I Got You Back and others. Killer stuff. Cover: VG/VG+, ring wear, wear at corners and along seams, light stain on back cover upper middle and right edge. Record: VG-/VG, light to moderate scuffs and surface marks (slightly heavier on Side Two), overall fairly clean, on PAM private label, U.S. press.
