Decca SXL 2197 ED1 Wide Band Grooved 'Original Recording By' - Bizet-Sarasate / Sarasate / Saint-Saëns - Ricci, Gamba, London Symphony Orchestra
Cover: EX; bit ring wear, some creases. Like many others graying of the black cover colour - seems to be quite normal with this record. Little yellowing. No seam splits or weak seams. Corners still very decent. Original NM inner
Vinyl: Visually graded EX; imprint traces left by the original inner sleeve, some very minor re-sleeving traces. 1 very small needle drop mark and a 1 inch shallow fingernail mark (does not sound).
Fully Play Graded
Side 1: Few of the softest crackles played with high volume at the end of the 1st motive. Easily EX+, close to NM- for the majority (90%) of the side.
Side 2: Starts with 4 very soft tics. Otherwise similar in sound quality as Side 1, though with 2 very tiny marks that have no sound effect on my system. Also around 90% NM- sound quality.
And yes, there is that occasional soft dust tic and rustle regardless professional cleaning (Keith Monks). Amazing good quality recording with clear undistorted sonics and depth - the perfect bold & sumptuous Decca sound! Conclusion: NOT the PERFECT NM copy, but very close to NM- and soooo rare.
I grade visually and (partly) play grade whenever in doubt. Stereo issues on a Linn LP12 with a Lyra Delos cartridge. Mono issues on a Thorens TD135 with a General Electric VRII cartridge; please be aware that this is a true mono Variable Reluctance cartridge, thus playing with a minimum of groove noise and hardly picking up any imperfections that these older mono records frequently have
As I don't have my own professional cleaning equipment, I consider (and recommend) this to the buyer. In my experience records easily gain a grade with professional cleaning

Actual shipping from the Netherlands is currently Euro 18.10 for a package up to 2 kilograms for World shipping. I convert this amount monthly to USD with xe.com and add $1 and a bit for the costs of the new fillers, etcetera.
