REO Speedwagon (originally styled as R.E.O. Speedwagon) is an American rock band from Illinois, USA. Formed in 1967, the band cultivated a following during the 1970's and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980's. Their Album, Hi Infidelity, (1980) contained four US Top 40 hits and is the group's best-selling album, with over 10 million copies sold.
Over the course of its career, the band has sold more than 40 million records and has charted 13 Top 40 hits, including the number ones "Keep on Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling". REO Speedwagon's mainstream popularity waned in the late 1980's, but the band remains a popular live act.
Live: You Get What You Play For is a live double album by rock band REO Speedwagon, released in 1977 (and years later as a single CD omitting "Gary's Guitar Solo" and "Little Queenie"). It was recorded at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, the Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiel Auditorium in St Louis, Missouri and Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It peaked at number #72 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1977. The song "Ridin' the Storm Out" reached #94 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The album went platinum on December 14, 1978.
