Description

R.E.M Rare "FIRST PRESS" of R.E.M.'s "FIRST RELEASE (Radio Free Europe/Sitting Still!!  Record Label Hib-Tone Records. 

Bill Berry, Mike Mills and I were all working at the Athens Banner-Hearld Newspaper in 1981.  Sometimes I would lend a helping hand and work at some of their venues.  One day Bill brought a 45 record to the Banner-Hearld and gave it to me.  He said it was their first record.  I have never played it.  I went into the military and while in Germany in the late 80s, R.E.M. blew up.  So, I thought that this record might be valuable.  I put it in my gun safe and that is where it has sat for the past 30 years.  I had all but forgot about it.  Again, it has never been played.  
The record jacket is a little worn but still in very good condition.
