Description
HIB-TONE HT 0001. RADIO FREE EUROPE/ SITTING STILL. Original true 1st pressing with no address for Hib-Tone on the record label. Few people were aware of this pressing until Peter Buck gave an interview with Goldmine magazine in the mid-1980's. He implied that the Hib-Tone operation wasn't exactly a well-oiled machine and that 500 copies of Radio Free Europe were pressed before someone pointed out that the Hib-Tone address wasn't on the record label. Thinking that that might be a good idea a new label was created with an address and about 6,000 more 45's were pressed. When this 45 was originally bought R.E.M. was a fully unknown band to most of the country.
The picture sleeve grades between VG and VG+ with general, overall light wear. There is a red rubber stamp on the back. The 45 grades VG++ with full gloss. A sound clip of the entire A-side has been provided.

GRADING
Near Mint or Mint Minus- Top condition with the most minor of wear.
VG++ - Not quite near mint but a super clean, desirable copy.
VG+ -Shows signs of wear but no significant defects.
VG -Obvious signs of wear but still has life in it. VG does NOT mean beat.
VG Minus -Moderate to heavy wear. OK if you need a filler copy.
G -Borders on unplayable. Only acceptable for the absolute rarest record.
