R.E.M. : Lifes Rich Pageant A1 / B1 1st Press 1986
This first pressing plays with incredible audio across both sides. The clarity, depth, power and warmth of the audio is second to none and it easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing. It's a classic album of course and it has been so well preserved over the last 40 years and could not play any better. The vinyl is in superb condition and has clearly hardly ever been played.
The textured cover is in fantastic condition with no obvious wear. The printed inner sleeve is almost as good with only a couple of corner creases.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a fine glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a handful of ultra faint hairlines and you would not be disappointed if you had just bought this brand new! The I.R.S. labels are unmarked with no spindle wear.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Begin The Begin' is perfect and Stipe's opening vocal comes through strong and clear with zero intrusion. Compared to Murmur his vocal is definitely higher in the mix and the recording is all the better for it. From then on in plays loud and true and there is no background at all. Tremendous depth and power all the way through and easily a Mint start to this classic album.
'These Days' plays with stunning quality also and sonically could not be any stronger. I've never really noticed it before but Berry's drum sound is so powerful. A flawless Mint version.
The all time classic 'Fall On Me' plays with sublime quality through every vocal and instrumental section. From Buck's first notes the audio is crystal clear, each note so clean - the separation is superb. The warmth and depth of the audio is phenomenal, I cannot emphasise enough just how well it plays. Mills adds a great a backing vocal and the long fade out has no background either. The definitive Mint version. Wow!
The bass intro on 'Cuyahoga' plays with stunning precision and the opening vocal section is equal to that. The first chorus is 'as new' also and from then on it plays with a power and depth that can't be faulted. A minor amount of very light static for a couple of seconds during the quiet bass section towards the end but a high end version for sure. Mint-
The intro on 'Hyena' has one very quiet static on the intro and then plays with real power and great definition from then onwards.... and no interference. Mint-
The unlisted track 'Underneath The Bunker' plays without fault and grades as Mint

The quiet intro and opening vocal section on 'The Flowers Of Guatemala' have no intrusion and as the volume builds into the first chorus the playback is perfect. It continues in the same way and Buck's mid solo could not play any better. The quiet end section plays beautifully. From start to finish I only heard a couple of barely audible statics and the fade out is 'as new'. A Mint- version.
The banjo intro on 'I Believe' has no background and the opening vocal... and the rest of the track plays to the same high end standard. Once again the audio definition is incredible. Mint
'What If We Give It Away?' is just outstanding! From the first note to the last it plays with superb audio. A couple of barely audible statics that is all and I can't believe I'm going to stick a minus on because of that! Mint-
'Just A Touch' plays with great power and depth and there is no distortion on the top end. Mint
The acoustic 'Swan Swan H' plays with a clarity and warmth that cannot be faulted. No intrusion anywhere, the perfect Mint version.
The unlisted 'Superman' has a couple of dull ticks on the intro and then the intro and opening vocal section play with perfect play with perfect clarity. It continues in the same precise way with only the bare minimum of inner groove distortion. Because of that I will say Near Mint but it remains a great listen. A stunning album!
The Cover & Printed Inner Sleeve
The textured cover is in superb condition with no obvious wear. The edges are perfectly clean and the spine is so close to that with only a couple of hardly visible rubs. The corners have barely any wear either and the opening edge is in superb condition also. The front cover is immaculate, it is totally unmarked, and the back cover is so close to that with only minor discolouration next to the spine unless that's just the light in the room! A stunning example.
The printed inner sleeve has just one corner crease on each side and has no side splits or tears and no marking either.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
