Description
Legendary performances by the Chicago Symphony and Fritz Reiner. The sonics on this tape are simply FABULOUS!!!! Tremendously exciting and thrillingly played, it's hard to believe that the Salome Dance was recorded near midnight after the orchestra recorded the same composer's Heldenleben all day!!! The Final Scene is delivered with all of the appropriate evil and depravity by Inge Borkh and Reiner's Chicago Symphony. Sonically and musically, this is one of the greatest recordings from the Reiner/CSO pertnership! The box is in quite good condition with tears near the spine, a split on the back by the thumb-indentation, and a tear on the bottom cover-flap. The reel is in good condition with some bubbling and abrasions on the red-seal label. There's a minor right-channel drop out near the beginning of the Dance but, overall, this tape, which is stored TAILS OUT on the reel, plays beautifully on my Revox B-77 deck. A fine copy of this rarity. Packing, USPS FIRST CLASS shipping and insurance are a flat $5 to domestic U.S. destinations. Priority mailing on request. International destinations will cost more. I will combine multiple winnings into one shipment. PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION. I kindly ask for payment within 10 days of the auction's end. I prefer US Postal Money Orders or PayPal. Other money orders and personal cheques will require clearance at my bank before shipping. Please check out my other tapes being auctioned, too. Thanks!
