New & Sealed Audiophile Vinyl Record - 45 RPM

Original Reference Recording. A Prof. Keith Johnson recording. A TAS Superdisc Title. Famous audiophile recording by Prof. Keith Johnson on December 31, 1957. Mastered at half-speed by Jack Hunt and pressed by the Victor Co. (JVC) in Japan.

For over 30 years Reference Recordings have been making some of the greatest sounding recordings on Earth. Engineer Prof. Keith O. Johnson, renowned for his more than 50 pioneering years of recording and equipment design, has always been at the forefront of high-resolution audio. He has engineered nearly 150 classical and jazz albums, including seven that have been nominated for and two that have won Grammys for Best Engineered Classical Recording.

Record is new and still sealed in it's original Japanese style, resealable sleeve. Corners are sharp. Spine rolls back. There is a generic Reference sticker that says 45 RPM.

Review: This fantastic album was recorded by Keith Johnson on New Years Eve, 1957, in a small club setting. He used a custom made, tube 3 channel stereo tape deck. It was one of the very first made. He used 3 Altec mics, and recorded it as a live club performance. It was mastered by Doug Sax. Half-speed mastering was by the late, great Jack Hunt at JVC and pressed by JVC in Japan. Performances are by Red Norvo-Vibes, Jimmy Wyble-Guitar, Jerry Dodgian-Reeds, Red Wooten-Bass, John Markham-Drums.
