Description

Here’s a rare long play RCA Victor Program Transcription disc by Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra! This is a 33 1/3 single sided 10 inch shellac disc. They feature about 15 minutes of playing time… basically it looks like a normal 78 but plays at 33. These discs were marketed around 1931 at the height of the depression and were a complete failure. This is number L-16001, selections from George White’s “Scandals”, featuring the songs My Song, This Is The Missus, Life is Just A Bowl of Cherries, and That’s Why Darkies Were Born. Condition is in the VG- range, light graying to the grooves, a couple feelable digs, played through when I tried it on a modern turntable.
