CONDITION: VG some scratches and sleeve scuffs. A skip was heard on my Pioneer Turntable the first time through but not afterwards, though, the fidelity sounds good. This is one of the few surviving copies of this obscure 45 rpm.
Ultra Rare! This Never Turns Up! This is a must for Babs Collectors! "The Preacher" side finds Babs in classic, innovative BeBop scatting mode with a black vocal group providing fantastic uptempo support with him. It's truly remarkable! "Lullaby" is actually a somber ballad where we find Ol' Babs serving up vocals as a mournful crooner and pulls it off quite well! The vocal group is heard offering additional layers for Babs' impressive vocals. Strong jazz accompaniment frames these acoustical portraits! Quite Astounding! There is a creative and resounding flute looming throughout both sides. Hearing Babs effectively sing a Ballad is worth the price of admission! Both sides are contained on his Rare Hope LP: Voila (Hope 0001) and are cited as album cuts on the label, however, this Original 45 RPM Record NEVER TURNS UP, EVER!!!!
