WOW!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original MONO Polydor Records very first press released in Chile in 1961 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos, licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number 612 385, with machine etched matrix numbers 612-385-A R1 in Side A and 612-385-B R1 in Side B, with traditional orange/black Polydor “scroll” Records labels!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Ray Charles and early rock’n’roll!!! WOW!!!

“HIT THE ROAD JACK” was originally released in USA in 1961 and the same year we got this great single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, the original price printed in Side A, “E°1,38”, and additional information written in English “Released In USA Under ABC Paramount Label”. If you know this single you will have already noticed that in original US press the credits are for Ray Charles And His Orchestra, but in this original Chilean issue the credit for “Ray Charles And His Orchestra” is only for the song “The Danger Zone”, the song “Hit The Road Jack” have the credits for “Ray Charles With The Raelets”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this RARE single of Ray Charles, pressed in Chile!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! And what a great condition!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with soft scuffs and light hairlines, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in EX+ or NM- condition in both sides, with only minimal wear, more evident in the spindle hole. The sound is in strong EX or even EX+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with only some light occasional crackles, more evident in the first and last seconds of the song, and in VG or VG condition the Side B, with soft constant crackles and some occasional light pops, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with Spanish-written song titles, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a very nice look and a great sound quality after about 60 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
