Lovely copy of the original 1962 mono pressing of Ray Charles’ all-time classic landmark album, Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, on ABC/Paramount LP ABC-410. The mono is just wonderful to hear, if you haven’t heard it. All the repressings are in stereo, so it is a rarity to get to hear the glorious mono. The disc has a bit of light superficial scuffing but it really plays beautifully. There are a couple of moments of very light background crackling, mostly just between a few songs, but barely any at all. Really it plays near perfectly. A truly great copy. The cover has a bit of edgewear and some discoloration on the back in a couple of spots, and a 3” seam split in the center of the bottom edge, where the disc touches the cover, but it is tight and not too noticeable. A bit of wear but really a pretty nice cover with no major damage or bent corners or anything much. This is a very nice original copy and it sounds fantastic.
