teamwork, a job had been well done.
What about this team? Well, let me say that it is the greatest group of guys I've ever worked with—a wonderful blend of youth with experience, and most important of all, a band loaded with talent!
August of 1966 will mark my fifth year as a leader, and this LP is the tenth under my direction. These years have given me my share of success and of disappoint-ments too, but I can tell you this; what happened in Maracaibo, and what's going to happen as long as this talent stays together, makes it worth every siap on the

Quisiera hablar algo sobre el presente disco de larga duración, y sobre todo de los músicos que comparten la actuación en el mismo.
Al final de nuestra PRIMERA
PRESENTACION
en

BOLIVAR, donde permanecimos por diez dias en los CARNAVALES DE MARACAIBO, nos informaron haber sido los ganadores del trofeo simbólico del "MOMO DE ORO", como la orquesta visitante más popular de los CARNAVALES de 1966. Este fué para mi el momento de más honor y satisfacción que hubiera experimentado en toda mi vida, no solamente por haber conquistado tan anhelado honor, sino por la satisfacción de haberlo logrado a base de la cooperación de todos los integrantes.
Y cúiènes son los integrantes?
Bumo, paes comenzaré por decir que se trata del mejor grupo con que he contado hasta el presente, una combinación de juventud con experiencia, de deseos de superación y más importante aún con mucho talento.
Agosto de 1966 marca mi QUINTO ANIVERSARIO como director de orquesta, y este disco de larga duración es el décimo que dirijo; estos años me han traído una variedad de triunfos y desengaños tambien, pero si puedo afirmar que lo sucedido en MARACAIBO y lo que sucederá siempre y cuando este grupo de talentosos músicos se mantengan unidos, me hace sonar cada vez con más gusto los mianotazos sobre mi conga.
