RAVEN “Live At the Inferno” TOP! Original Blues Rock Psych lp M-

1969/USA/Discovery Records 36133…..here’s a clean original pressing of this rare Private press lp. The lightly textured cover is in solid condition with light corner bumps/wear, the top center seam has a clean 2" split and the lower seam has a 2" split at the opening edge, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no delete. The vinyl is in glossy M- condition with minor light inaudible storage stains/blemishes and looks Unplayed. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. This is a raw live recording. Live at the Inferno, released shortly after Raven's Columbia album "Raven". This album is a live recording at the famous Glen Park Inferno nightclub. Recorded in 1967 on a two-track recorder. This album was produced from the same tape Raven manager, Marty Angelo sent to George Harrison and which is the tape Jimi Hendrix listened to at Steve Paul's Scene. It was not officially released until critics and band members complained they did not like the "studio sound" of the Columbia LP. Many preferred the live raw energy sound Raven displayed while onstage so the group decided to release Live at the Inferno.The album was mainly distributed locally in Buffalo, New York on Discovery Records. The group brought 50 Inferno albums with them on their British tour and gave them away to disc jockeys, nightclub owners, and fans.

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
