Description

RAVEL COMPLETE ORCHESTRAL WORKS – performed by La Société des Concerts du Conservatoire

conducted by ANDRÉ CLUYTENS ON ORIGINAL UK COLUMBIA SAX BLUE/SILVER LABEL IN 4 LP BOX

Here is a very rare and desirable early original UK COLUMBIA issue of this 4 LP box set. It must have been very rarely played as the vinyl is shiny and looks as new. There are some very small light marks at the center hole on a few of the labels which could be from a turntable spindle but the rest show no signs of use. Please see the pictures posted which represent the overall standard of the labels. The insert is near mint, only bearing the signs of the first owner in form of a hand written note with a signature. The box has a beautifully preserved front and the back is grey with gold lettering. I was told that very early boxes were issued with grey coloured backs instead of black ones. In overall the box is well preserved but shows some signs of normal storage at the corners. The four sleeves are flawless without stains. Please see the enclosed pictures. Excuses for the inconsistency in colour reproduction (all labels DO have the same colour!).

As the overall standard of this item is very high I have NOT play graded it. However, even if rarely played, please bear in mind that these are records of 45+ years age. And even when new LPs of the highest quality sometimes could present their owners with occasional clicks, pops and hiss as well as some tracking distortion at heavily modulated passages.

Don't miss out on this occasion to get yourself a rarity seldom seen in this splendid condition!

Please read the text further below and ignore the eBay info about postage costs. Please wait for my PayPal invoice with actual postage before sending any payment. I don't charge anything for packaging. The item will be sent fully insured due to its high value.

GENERAL:                                             MAGNIFICENT PLAYING AND SOUND IN AN EXTREMELY RARE AND SAUGHT AFTER

                                                                      ISSUE !

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition. I only grade SEALED records as MINT.

The cover and any extra items are also unused in AS NEW condition.

NEAR MINT

A nearly perfect record, with only the slightest cosmetic flaw – no audible defect.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality

despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
