Description
Firstly I am not a record dealer and any records I sell come from my own collection. This one is a very rare Clash unofficial white label 7 inch EP entitled "The Sound of the West". The following is info from an online Clash source :-
One Emotion: A left-over track from the "Give 'Em Enough Rope" demo sessions, produced by Sandy Pearlman, June 1978
Oh Baby Oh: This was a Mick Jones demo that was eventually rewritten by Strummer as "Gates Of The West".
You Can't Judge A Woman (By Making Love To Her Mother): Recorded at Wessex Studios during the London Calling sessions in 1979. A Bo Diddley type Strummer song/jam
Mona: The Bo Diddley classic recorded by The Clash during the London Calling sessions at Wessex Studios in 1979
The Beautiful People Are Ugly Too: Recorded in Melbourne Australia, additional recording at Electric Ladyland in Spring 1982 by Mick Jones.
Kill Time! : Recorded in New York, this song was allegedly dropped from Combat Rock in favour of "Inoculated City"
Barcode and Other Identifiers
- Matrix / Runout: C-1000-A
- Matrix / Runout: C-1000-B
Both the sleeve & vinyl are in excellent condition. The recording, because of its nature (outtakes, demos etc.) is very RAW, presenting the band in its most minimalistic form. However, warts & all, this is a must for the serious Clash fan. See the other few records I will be listing.
